Homes for the Holidays...

Greetings!

Last Thursday was one of the best days of my 2 ½ year tenure here at Habitat CFC. I spent most of the day signing papers at the Bridgeport law offices of Cohen and Wolf – not very exciting – until you learn that those papers were all related to home sales. Four wonderful families became homeowners just in time for Christmas – a dream that none of them ever expected to come true! The Habitat CFC construction team, volunteers and donors made it possible for each of these families to purchase the new home that they helped build – below cost, with a zero interest mortgage. Our Family Services staff and two pro-bono attorneys made sure that our homeowners understood every step in the process and every form that they were asked to sign.

In addition to these new home closings, our attorneys also helped an existing owner refinance her Habitat CFC home purchase from a few years ago. Circumstances had changed – and since we want nothing more than to see her succeed, we were able to amend her agreements to make them fit her new reality.

I am so proud to be a part of the great opportunity Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County provides for hard working families to become first time homeowners. I’m just as proud to know that Habitat CFC will be there as a support for our homeowners through the years whenever the inevitable ups and downs of life come their way! Every family deserves the stability, security and warmth of a decent place to call home – today... tomorrow... always.

My sincere gratitude to all who make the miracles of Habitat for Humanity possible! Your support enabled us to break a record this past year with seventeen closings. With your continued encouragement, we will do our very best to match or beat that number in the coming year.

May your holidays be a time of joy and 2018 be a year filled with happiness, good health, prosperity and peace!

With our thanks and warm regards,
