Celebrate Easter in DeKalb County

NIU is Full of Music this Spring
The NIU School of Music and the NIU School of Theatre and Dance host a variety of concerts, recitals, and shows in April and May as the spring semester comes to an end.

From Steelband to Classical and all things in between, there's something for every musical taste.

Celebrate the Arts
A Celebration of the Arts May 4th & 5th in Downtown DeKalb and on the NIU campus.

This year’s ARTigras includes a Spring Art Walk, student art exhibitions, student/local art in downtown venues, a costume contest and new this year… The Art of Tasting and the Variety Show at the Egyptian Theater featuring dance, theatrical and music performances.

The Art of Tasting (May 4th) is the perfect pairing of an art walk and progressive tasting. Enjoy an evening of strolling through Downtown DeKalb while enjoying art and tasting new foods and libations. The event will culminate at the Egyptian Theatre with the ARTigras Variety Show.  Tickets are on sale now .

DeKalb County United Soccer
Cheer on DeKalb County's newest sports team, The DeKalb County United.

This semi-pro soccer team will host 8 home games throughout the summer. They kick off the season with an indoor game vs. USAi Old Bhoys on April 14th.

May 12th is the start of their outdoor season where they will play on their home field on NIU's campus.

Tickets are $5 with season tickets available.

Whiskey Acres 2018 Season
Whiskey Acres opens for its 2018 Season on April 6th. Enjoy their bourbon, whiskey, rye and vodka on the same farm the grains are grown.

The patio and tasting room are open Friday - Sunday each weekend. They also offer tours and tastings, $10/person, that include a souvenir shot glass. Tours will begin on the hour, with the last tour departing 90 mins before close.

Egyptian Theatre Events

The Encryption Theatre's Spring Season is another one full of must see shows.

Save the Date for DeKalb County Restaurant Week
Restaurant Week is back for its third year in DeKalb County! DeKalb area restaurants are creating a week for local and visiting foodies to celebrate dining out. 

Dine at the participating restaurants and ask for the Restaurant Week Special. Have fun and see how many you can sample!
