This Weekend at Hope:  The Summer of Acts | When in Rome | Acts 28:1-6
Hello Hope!

I'm Eli Suddarth, the new Discipleship Minister at Hope Ankeny, and I am excited to bring the message this weekend as we wrap up our summer series through the book of Acts. It seems as though anytime we get close to finishing something or reaching a goal, that's when things get the hardest, and distractions and disruptions throw us off course. That's what we'll be looking at this weekend for our final message in this series: moving forward in the face of difficulty.

Choosing to respond well in a bad situation is an important discipline in the life of a Christ-follower; if there's one thing I've learned from being a parent, it's that there is always someone watching! When difficulties come our way, those around us can see if we as Christians mean it when we say we trust God. How we act is a testimony to our faith, which means we who follow Jesus today are still writing the Book of Acts for this generation. Isn't that exciting? Even as we conclude a series on the book itself, the story continues in your life and your personal ministry.

Of course, that can feel intimidating, which is why we try to offer a number of tools for you to grow in your faith and go deeper in community here at Hope. There are so many ways for you to get involved this fall that can help you bear faithful witness to the people around you.

If you are new to Christianity or just checking things out, Alpha is a perfect fit, starting Sunday, Sept. 10! Group Launch, which is a way to get into a new small group studying the next sermon series, starts Thursday, Aug 24. And there are any number of ongoing classes and groups for kids, students and adults that you can explore on our website.

I'm eager to see you all this weekend as we look at how we can keep moving forward!
