This Weekend at Hope:
Genesis: A Binge-Worthy Bible Series | Arrested Development | Genesis 4:1-7
Hello Hope Des Moines!

"To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life." Revelation 21:6.

Are any of you tired, overwhelmed, stressed out, weary of winter weather already? I don't think you're alone. This time of year has a way of wearing on us and draining us of joy. This past weekend, God knew we all needed some refreshing as we began a new year. One of the many ways God fills us up, quenches our thirst for life, and brings us joy is through the waters of baptism!

This past weekend after all services, the Spirit led us to make an invitation to anyone to come forward and receive the gift of baptism and 46 of you came forward to be baptized for the first time or to reaffirm your baptism. Praise God for the transformed hearts, the tears of joy, the families who came together, the fresh starts that were made. Just a reminder that if you or your children are interested in getting baptized at any time, don't hesitate to let us know by calling the church or emailing kim.lamb@hopedesmoines.org. We offer regular baptism classes with the next class this coming Sunday, Jan. 14 at 6:00 pm. Register HERE today!

And if that wasn't exciting enough, following worship, we had 18 new members officially join our church family through the New Member Class! If you see some new faces around these next few weeks, be sure to welcome them!

The best part is, we're just getting started! Our annual theme this year at Hope is "On a Mission from God" from Acts 1:8. Of course we won't just talk about it. God's already on the move, and we invite you to come along!

- This weekend after all services we'll have a Ministry Fair for you to learn more about all the different ways to get connected!

- Our Guy's Night Kickoff has been rescheduled for this Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7:00 pm. Join other men of Hope for food, good conversation, and discover the many opportunities within Men's Ministry.

- Our Breakfast Club Ministry, which serves our homeless and low-income brothers and sisters, is having two volunteer gatherings Monday, Jan. 22 and Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 7:00-8:30 pm. If you're interested in helping with food, clean up, welcoming, or donating food, come and discover how to get involved!

And that's just the highlights! Finally, join us this weekend as we continue our sermon series on Genesis, using some of your favorite TV shows to better understand our stories. It's a great weekend to bring a friend, and we'll see you there!

P.S. Now that we're into 2018, just a friendly reminder for those of you who made pledges or commitments to our "Building Hope Together" giving campaign in November to make those changes or gifts online HERE or during the offering at worship (be sure to write "Building Fund" in the memo). Thank you again for your incredible generosity! Our debt continues to go down daily!
