This Weekend at Hope:
The Jesus Run | Let's Do Lunch! | Matthew 14:13-21

Hello Hope Des Moines!

The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Philippi, "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now... It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart" (Philippians 1:3-7).
This echoes so well in my heart for you as a community as I sit down to pray and write today. Sometimes when life moves so fast, and God is moving in so many ways, we don't stop to simply say thank you - to be grateful for those around us. So today I'm pausing to say, along with Paul, "I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel..." Here's just a few reasons among many...
-A few weeks ago, we concluded phase one of the CORE class, with over 75 of you actively pursuing growth as followers of Jesus, dedicating your time to understand the Bible and how God speaks to us. CORE 2 starts in April, so stay tuned for details!
-Last week we had a large group of you step up to be trained as future Life Group leaders, taking up the call to servant leadership and passing along the faith to the many new faces around Hope Des Moines! Also, if you signed up for a Life Group a few weeks back, we are actively helping over 60 new people connect! Praise God! If you're interested in joining a group, we'll have several new starting soon, so let us know HERE.
-Last weekend, after Chris Kimpston and I shared what we believe is God's vision for young adult ministry through REVIVE at Hope Des Moines, your response was overwhelmingly supportive, further emphasizing your heart to be a church for all people and all generations. Many exciting things are happening with REVIVE - check it all out HERE!
And that's just getting started! I could keep listing so many reasons you continually fill me with gratitude! Another great way to continue to be the church comes up Saturday, March 17 with our Spring Work Day here at the church facility. We'll have indoor and outdoor projects for all ages and abilities, all in an effort to make God's house look great for Easter and beyond! Feel free to come and go as your schedule allows. We'd love your help!
I can't wait to see each of you this weekend on Saturday at 5:00 pm or Sunday at 9:15 or 11:00 am as we continue our "Jesus Run" sermon series on the Gospel of Matthew with the famous story of Jesus feeding 5,000! Bring a friend, your Bible, and we'll see you there!
P.S. With Spring Break here for many, don't forget to mark your calendars now to join us for Holy Week services at Hope Des Moines, including Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, leading up to Easter! All the details can be found HERE!

P.P.S. It's Daylight Saving Time this weekend, so remember to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night!
