Good Morning Hope!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
The Good News of Jesus Christ all wrapped up in one statement of hope,
promise, and invitation to all. Have you believed in Jesus?
Over the next three weeks our 8th-grade students in PowerLife, our confirmation program, will make public statements about their faith in God through Jesus Christ. John 3:16 is likely one of the first verses they were taught as kids. It remains a powerful and hope-filled verse for all of us.
I want to ask you as a church to pray for God to ignite and fan the flame of these young people's hearts with the power of his Holy Spirit. Every morning over the next three weeks, pray this prayer:
Gracious God, I know you love all people so much that you gave your Son to save us and give us eternal life. I believe it. Today, I am asking that your Holy Spirit would ignite the faith of our 8th-grade PowerLife boys and girls. Amen.
Thank you to all of you, the church, for your faithfulness to support the next generation in faith through prayer, programs, volunteering, leading, caring, and celebrating together. You make a great difference and impact in the Kingdom of God.
This weekend at worship we will hear a powerful message of love and grace from Pastor Mike Housholder featuring
Faith on Film: "Wonder Woman."
You are welcome to join us at any of our services, Saturday 5:00 pm in Grimes or Sunday at 9:15 or 11:00 am in Johnston.
Finally, we need everyone's help in finding and hiring a Nursery Coordinator. We have been so blessed to have had some excellent people in this position who have done a great job organizing, scheduling, and caring for the youngest kids in our congregation. This part-time position is 10 hour per week and focuses on building and scheduling a team of people to provide care for kids at weekend services and at classes and events throughout the week. Please let any of our staff know if you, or someone you know is interested in finding out more.
Thanks for being the church.
P.S. I will be live on Facebook at 4:00 pm this afternoon with an onsite building tour.
