Good Morning Hope!
Part 1: When it rains...it pours. The flood waters rose and many are suffering. It's not a new story, but it is the reality of our lives. We all seem to take a turn in the flood waters of life.
When tragedy rises we have a great opportunity to witness and be part of the healing care and love of God in serving one another. Caring always comes one simple loving act at a time through people.
Our Mission's Ministry
connects people who have needs with people who want to serve. Just last evening a team from our church, in partnership with other Johnston churches, provided a meal for the people displaced by the flood from Cornerstone Commons in Johnston.
As you hear of flood related needs, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- The person's name, phone number, city they live in, and brief description of what happened.
If you, or others you know, are willing and able to help with clean-up please send an email to
- Name(s) of people willing to help, contract phone number, city you live in.
Part 2: When it rains...it pours. Vacation Bible School starts in 10 days! Registrations are at record levels and that means the Holy Spirit is pouring out his great love preparing the hearts of people to celebrate his great love through great Bible teaching, music, fun, crafts, skits, snacks, and games.
As you hear and know of kids who need to learn about and celebrate God's love, please register them for a great week of VBS, July 16-20:
If you, or others, you know, are willing and able to help with VBS, please sign up to serve:
"Shine! Be the Light"
is our theme this year. It couldn't be more appropriate that this then spills over into our lives in mission.
May God's light burn brightly in your life,
P.S. VBS T-Shirts for kids will be available for pickup beginning this weekend at worship services. Volunteers can get theirs at
