This Weekend at Hope:
Happy Mother's Day!| Motherhood: Lessons Learned | Proverbs 31:10-31
Good Morning Hope!
Excitement and joy are in full swing! The Spirit of God is visible everywhere - at weekend worship, in the birth of new life, in the promise of resurrection, in the celebration of God's beautiful creation of motherhood, and in the reality that we are all invited into the community of God.
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit."
This weekend at Hope - It's Mother's Day and Christine Meggison will share a message called Motherhood: Lessons Learned. Christine's life as a child of God, mother, wife, and friend to many demonstrates a life empowered by the Holy Spirit, so you won't want to miss it.
Flowers and Photo Booth - You know we love to celebrate at Hope, so this weekend every mom and daughter will receive a flower. And we will have a really fun photo booth available for everyone to celebrate Mother's Day. Pics will be taken by a photographer and uploaded to our Facebook page where you can download and share them with friends! Also, feel free to take some of the photo booth pics with your own phones!
New Building & Outdoor Worship - Talk about exciting! The contractors have poured most of our new parking lot and we are getting ready to landscape the entire site with trees and shrubs. I can't wait for Father's Day, June 18 -  we will invite the whole congregation and community to the new site for outdoor worship followed by our first early look with building tours and a community cookout!
Summer Picnic - Let's have some fun out at Jester Park with a community picnic on Sunday, June 3 at Shelter #4 from 1:00-2:00 pm. Bring your favorite dishes to share. We will provide extra table service, water and watermelon! Bring your whole family and all your friends!
Summer HopeKids - Want to have the best summer ever? Make it a priority to make a difference in a kid's life with the love of Jesus. Katelyn Jolivette, our Children's Ministry leader is waiting to help you have the best summer ever being part of the team of awesome people who have some really awesome experiences helping kids learn all about God's love. So, make sure to email Katelyn or stop by at weekend worship and let her know you, and maybe even your Life Group, would love to help!
Staff Update - Hannah Nichols (Children's Ministry leader) had a beautiful baby girl, Isla Mae! Matt, Hannah, and Isla will be enjoying some of the best time ever together for maternity leave and we look forward to seeing them soon.
Summer Parades - Do you love a parade? Sign up to be part of a great way to invite the community into the church. We will walk in the Grimes Governor's Day Parade on Saturday, June 9 and Johnston Green Days Parade on the Saturday, June 16. Be sure to stop by the Welcome Center and sign up. Even better, sign up your Life Group for fun passing out Frisbees and postcards to invite everyone to VBS and into the life of Hope!
Prayer - Almighty and Gracious God. Thank you for loving us and for loving all people. Thank you for including us in your eternal life through the life-giving love of Jesus. Draw us closer and closer to you and to one another in the power of the Holy Spirit. We love you. Amen.
