This Weekend at Hope:  The Summer of Acts | When in Rome | Acts 28:1-6
Good Morning!
Don't you just love moving past obstacles and mile markers? It's not always easy and it usually stretches us into increased patience, perseverance, persistence, and prayer. And then it happens. The morning comes, we grow in character and reliance upon God and a new perspective opens.
This week as a church we moved past a very significant mile marker in our journey to build a church. On Tuesday this week, the City of Grimes approved our plans for site development and building design (I even did a little dance after the City Council voted). Building drawings were sent to contractors for bids and are due back toward the end of August. We are right on track to break ground in September.
It's a great story isn't it? We thought we were going to partner with the YMCA and made quite a few plans to do so. We experienced timing hurdles and obstacles and after two years of waiting and trying to figure out how to move forward we found out our partner would head in a different direction.
We regrouped with patience, perseverance, persistence, and prayer and asked God to continue to guide us. To many it can seem like hurdles and obstacles, but when God finally reveals his plan and brings it about, the mile markers start passing and a new perspective dawns. And it sure looks good this morning.
This summer has indeed been a Summer of Acts - both in a sermon series and for us as a church. This weekend we finish our summer teaching series focusing on the glorious Christian life that comes filled with roadblocks, hurdles, and mile markers - and of course a new perspective.
This weekend at church we will have the design plans available for everyone to see.
God is building his church in and through you. It's how he designed it. He will be faithful to complete it.
See you at worship.
