This Weekend at Hope:
Genesis: A Binge-Worthy Bible Series | Arrested Development |Genesis 4:1-7
Hey, Hope!

After last week's sermon and clips from the series "Breaking Bad," I began to focus my attention on God's reckless love and his endless pursuits to be in relationship with me and others this week. The book of Genesis is all about God choosing people, pursuing them, building long-lasting relationships, and freeing people from the world's trappings. What's so amazing is that God continues to give of himself, with no concern of cost, to go after the lost, forsaken and brokenhearted.

With that reminder, I have been playing a recently released song " Reckless Love," over and over this week. I can't shake it. Life is not random or abstract, even though the world may try to persuade us to think otherwise. But, rather as the first verses in the song capture, "as I was taking my first breaths, God was breathing into me." This just overwhelms me. How about you?

Maybe it's because I'm soon to be an uncle, again. There is something so incredible in those first moments of new life, right? I know because of the four times I've experienced it. Thinking that God, from the very beginning of life, is so enamored with us, he can't wait but place his blessing in us with those first gasps of air. Wow!

That's why we are beginning the year with the Alpha Course this Sunday evening. Maybe you have been searching for happiness and keep finding yourself hitting dead ends. You might have little motivation these days, or can't find purpose in your work. You wonder if God really cares about you. I want you to consider participating in the nine-week course by signing up here today. Perhaps you can find some answers to your questions.

Also, tonight at 6:30 pm, we'll be offering a time for community and family with our Family Movie Night in the Worship Center. The minions might be invading us, but we'll have free popcorn and a warm, family-friendly environment to step into. All are welcome.

I hope to see you this weekend!
