Arbor Day Tree Ceremony

The Hopewell Township Committee, Hopewell Township Environmental Commission, and Hopewell Township Open Space Committee are celebrating Arbor Day with their annual tree-planting ceremony. This year, they are planting a native white dogwood tree in honor of the late Ted Stiles.

Ted Stiles was FoHVOS's founding president and worked tirelessly to preserve open space in Hopewell Valley, leading or assisting in the protection of 6,500 acres of land. Thanks to Ted's efforts, Hopewell Valley's beautiful landscape has been preserved in perpetuity.

The brief ceremony will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 28 at Woolsey Park, located on Washington Crossing - Pennington Road. No registration required.

On Saturday, April 29 at 10 am the same Hopewell Township groups will lead a hike on the Woolsey Brook Trail to search for and measure the largest Osage Orange tree.
