Sheila Caplis first became involved with Horizon through Lincoln Park High School. She came to camp for the first time in 2000 and has attended every year since. Sheila's favorite part of camp is the nightly cookout, which she says is partly because everyone is relaxed and hanging out and partly because it is the best meal of the day.

When Sheila graduated from college she became more involved with the organization. "I decided that I wanted Horizon to be more than one week a year for me." At that time Sheila joined the Recruitment Committee and helped out with processing volunteer applications, which she has been doing ever since. A couple years ago Sheila also joined the Board. She served as Vice President for several years and as of this year she is President.

Outside of Horizon, Sheila is an attorney, focused on government affairs. She describes herself as a "Pinterest addict" and her hobbies include shopping, crafting, and baking.
