Horizon Highlight: Chris Gieck and Anna Lopez
Anna Lopez and Chris Gieck have both been attending Horizon Camp for many years. Chris started attending MDA camp in 1990 and continued on with Horizon when it started in 1992. Chris recruited her sister Anna for the first year of Horizon Camp as well. They have both made many friends at camp over the years and they both love seeing new people become part of the Horizon family. Anna says, "One of the best things about volunteering with Horizon is that I have been lucky to share it with my sister and mom. Camp has definitely made us closer."

Anna, Chris, Jen, and Erica
Over the years, both Anna and Chris have been very involved in the organization. They have both taken on several leadership roles, such as team leader, camp support team member, and board member, and they have participated in several fundraisers. Currently, Anna is a member of the board, the Camp Committee, the Horizon Hope committee, and is the co-chair of the Recruitment Committee. Chris helps the board with proofreading and is the co-chair of the Camp Committee.
Outside of Horizon, Anna has worked in the catalog industry as a project coordinator for the past 18 years. When she isn't working on something for Horizon, she is probably on the phone with Chris, watching TV together, or taking care of her cats. Chris has taught special education middle school for the past 20 years. She lives on Long Island with her husband, Eddie, and their cat, Zooky.
