Hostos Celebrates its 45th Anniversary
Hostos Community College has embarked on its 45th Anniversary Celebration, which will feature a multitude of events to acknowledge the college's nearly four-and-a-half decades of history.
Since 1968, Hostos has educated a diverse and dynamic student body, while also providing educational and social services to the community. With its enrollment numbers and graduation rates reaching all-time highs and the opening of the new Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education in the Bronx Terminal Market building, this celebration will be an opportunity to thank the community and reflect on the college's achievements.
"We are excited about celebrating this milestone with our students, faculty, staff, and the community," said Hostos President Félix V. Matos Rodríguez. "Hostos would not be here if it weren't for the special relationship we have with the South Bronx and the rest of New York City. As we observe our 45th anniversary, we look forward to building on all we have accomplished."
Named for Eugenio María de Hostos, the 19th century Puerto Rican educator, philosopher, sociologist and leader, Hostos Community College has proudly carried on his legacy through its dedication to educating the leaders of tomorrow.
Please join our faculty, staff, students and alumni as Hostos celebrates its past and anticipates a bright future.
