Life Drawing Sessions

Life Drawing is a great way to quickly improve your observational skills, which is great practice for any artist.  The attention to visual reality helps hone an understanding of how forms and light relate.  Just $10 per session, or $30 for a four session registration. Tuesdays, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm; $10 per person; age 18 & up; bring your own drawing supplies.

 

The Golden Hour: Creating Good Photos with Sarah Huntington:

Equipment isn't as important as vision when you're making photos.  Photographer Sarah Huntington will help you work with any camera you have! Wednesdays, July 1 - 22, 5 - 7 pm, $180 plus $20 materials, 12 & up. 

 

Beyond Monopoly with Chip York: Join Mr. Chip in his latest adventure; explore the rich, innovative world of tabletop games not found in the average toy store. Strategize, cooperate and compete; beginners welcome. July 6-10, 9am - 12pm, $180 plus $20 materials fee, 8 & up.

 

Paper Tigers and Tunnel Books with Beth Fuller: A an exciting mixed media camp including drawing, collage, painting, weaving, paper sculpture, book making, and printmaking. July 6 - 10, 1 pm - 4 pm, $160 plus $20 materials fee. 8 & up.

 

Exploring Ceramics Saturday Classes with Hannah Janney: Saturdays, July 11 through August 1 (four classes), 10 am to 11 pm, $100 plus $25 materials, Ages 7 & up.Join instructor Hannah Janney for fun weekly adventures in clay. Learn hand-building, wheel, sculpture, and glazing techniques. Parents are welcome to register as well!

 

Beginning Wheel-thrown Pottery with Gloria Eshelman

Learn the basics of pottery and clay properties, cutting, wedging, centering on the pottery wheel, and making basic forms -- OR-- expand your skills and explore more complex shapes and surface techniques including carving, slip trailing and more. Sundays, 10 am - 1 pm starting July 12; $200 plus $25 materials for eight classes, Age 16 & up.


 
Intermediate and Advanced Wheel-Thrown Pottery with Sandi Fanning

Primarily for students with wheel throwing experience this class will present special projects to challenge each student's abilities. Mondays, 10 am - 1 pm starting July 13; $200 plus $25 materials fee for eight classes, Age 16 & up. 
 

Let's Create with Lynn Kanen: Designed with the younger student in mind! We will combine hands-on activities such as drawing, painting, sculpting and collage! July 13 - 17, 9 am - 12 pm, $180 plus $20 materials fee, 5 & up. 

 

Build, Sculpt, and Throw with Amy Manson: In this sequel to Kids & Clay older students will learn more advanced techniques, including hand building vessels, basic wheel throwing, and sculpture construction. July 13 - 17, 1 pm - 4 pm, $160 plus $25 materials, 11 & up 

 

Tabletop 2 with Chip York: Join in or continue your journey with Mr. Chip to explore more complex games. Challenge your imagination, battle your friends, cooperate to save the world! For gamers with some experience. July 20 - 24, 9 am -12 pm, $180 plus $20 materials, 8 & up.

 

Let's Journal! with Lynn Kanen: If you like to scrapbook, draw in a sketchbook, doodle or write about your experiences, then visual journaling is for you! We'll use a variety of art materials to create exciting and vibrant journal. July 20 -24, 1 pm - 4 pm, $180 plus $20 materials, 8 & up. 

 

Get Me Started: Floral Still Life Painting with Dana Thompson

It's easier to paint with oils than you think! Accomplished painter Dana Thompson will introduce the basics of oil painting, from compostion to color theory.  Dana will set up a beautiful floral still life to inspire you. You'll be amazed at what you can do in three hours! Saturday, July 25, 1 pm - 4 pm, $50 includes supplies.
 
 

Comics Camp with Nora Kavaldjian: Learn the basics of making comics, including: original character development, writing for a visual format, drafting, drawing, inking techniques, and coloring options! July 27 - 31, 1 pm - 4 pm, $100, 10 & up.
