House Spirits Announces National Release of Westward Single Malt
 

Portland, Ore.’s House Spirits Distillery announced the national release of its Westward American Single Malt whiskey, which the spirits producer describes as “a grain-to-glass celebration of the American pioneer spirit, inspired by the best of the American craft beer and whiskey traditions.” (The Drinkable Globe)

Ohio Distillers Hope Law Change Makes It Easier to Reach Consumers  
It soon might become easier for Ohio’s craft distilleries to get their vodkas, gins, and whiskeys on barroom shelves thanks to a change in state rules that will allow small-time distillers to sell products directly to pubs and restaurants. (The Blade)

Virginia’s Twin Creeks Distillery Moving and Expanding

A Franklin County, Va. distillery is expanding and moving its business to another part of the county. Twin Creeks Distillery will have a soft opening on Aug. 19, followed by a grand opening on Sept. 2. (WSET)

Charlotte, N.C. Hosting City’s First Craft Spirits Showcase  

The Queen City Craft Distillers Showcase Aug. 18-20 is the first event of its kind in Charlotte. Put on by Charlotte’s Behind The Bar Foundation and the Charlotte chapter of the U.S. Bartenders Guild, it’s designed to introduce craft spirits with three days of events. (Charlotte Observer)

Campari Veteran to Join Eastside Distilling’s Board of Directors 

Eastside Distilling announced the appointment of Shelly A. Saunders to its board of directors. Saunders brings more than 25 years of finance experience to the board, having served as VP finance/CFO of Campari Canada and VP finance/FP&A for Campari America/SKYY Spirits. (BevNet)

Copper & Kings to Host First Kentucky Craft Gin Festival 

On Saturday, Copper & Kings plans to help spread the love of gin with the first-ever Supersonic: The Kentucky Craft Gin Festival. Copper & Kings has invited other craft gin makers from the state to participate, so folks from Corsair and New Riff Distilling will be on hand as well with their versions of gin. Painted Stave the Latest to Announce Eclipse-Inspired Spirit

Painted Stave Distilling to release SunSeeker Wheat Whiskey on August 21 to commemorate the Total Solar Eclipse. SunSeeker Wheat Whiskey is the third in Painted Stave’s series of whiskies distilled from craft beers. (BevNet)
