HOUSE OF SPICES MOVES TO MASPETH

House of Spices (India) Inc., an importer, manufacturer, and distributor of Indian spices and foods, will be acquiring and renovating a new facility in Maspeth, a move made possible through assistance with the NYCIDA.
House of Spices plans to invest $6.4M to purchase, renovate, and equip the 25,000 SF building. With assistance from NYCIDA, House of Spices has grown its family-owned business in Queens over the past 40 years, currently distributing products nationwide.

BIKE LANES TO BE INSTALLED

Beginning in early August, NYCDOT will install bike lanes in Ridgewood, including parts of the Maspeth IBZ:
- Bicycle lanes on Woodward Ave., Onderdonk Ave., 69th Ave., and Catalpa Ave.
- Shared lanes on Flushing Ave., Fresh Pond Rd., Cypress Hills St., and 65th Place.
Guide signs will be installed to help cyclists navigate the new bicycle network and safety improvements such as refreshed crosswalk markings will be made.

GRAND STREET BRIDGE CLOSURE
On two Saturdays, August 2nd and August 9th, NYCDOT will close the Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek for mechanical and electrical repairs. The bridge will be closed from 7 AM to 2 PM. Variable message signs will be installed to alert motorists. Metropolitan Avenue may be used as an alternate route.
