Houston Bike Plan Heads to City Council

The Houston Bike Plan has been placed on the council
agenda for consideration by the Houston City Council on March 8, 2017. The agenda also includes a related item to consider amending Chapter 33 of the Code of Ordinances, providing for the adoption of the Bicycle Master Plan and creation of the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
On February 2, 2017, the Houston Planning Commission recommended approval of the Houston Bike Plan and forwarded the Plan to City Council for consideration, subject to revisions.
The Plan was subsequently heard at the City Council's Transportation, Technology & Infrastructure Committee on February 13, 2017. The
revised Bike Plan has been published at
houstonbikeplan.org.
City Council's public session starts at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 7 at the second floor of City Hall. Public speakers must sign up ahead of time. The Bike Plan is item #5 on the March 8th council agenda, and the Chapter 33 amendment is item #4.
