For us, December means looking back at some of the highlights from 2016. It means spending quality time with friends and family and getting prepared for whatever the new year may bring. It also means planning for the top trends in 2017.

Some of our predictions include:
  • Instagram will take the reigns again, making "snapping" a thing of the past
  • Businesses will increasingly go beyond Facebook to advertise online
  • Consumers will be more selective about who they spend with
  • Brands will continue to tap into influencer marketing to promote products
  • Inbound marketing will change the game
These are just a few of our marketing forecasts for the next year. Drop us a line on Twitter @medleyinc to share your top predictions for 2017!

AT&T Taps Houston Leaders to "Tell Their Story"

This fall, AT&T hosted a private dinner with some of Houston's most dynamic young leaders. Recently named one of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity, we're honored to work with an organization that demonstrates the same values that we do here at Medley. They've mentored 160,000 at-risk high school students as part of their Aspire Mentoring Academy program and have been consistently recognized as one of the top companies for diversity, according to Diversity Inc.'s annual report.

Thank you Aces of Taste for the collaboration, Houston Museum of African American Culture for providing the perfect venue and thanks to all who joined us for this special evening.

PR Tips: Before You Hire the Pro's

Public relations is all about reputation; reputation is everything to a brand. In addition to shaping how your target audience perceives you and your company, PR enables you to share your vision with consumers while building your profile and influence.

Here are our top five PR tools which will help you to build your reputation on your path to success:

1. Good bio - To write a winning bio, start by using the inverted pyramid, where the most important information is at the start. Make sure you include your area of expertise, your background and experience, your qualifications and examples of your successes.

2. Networking- Connecting with people is the best way to build your reputation and get your name out there. When people know you, and know what you can offer, they are more likely to do business with you or recommend you to other people.

3. PR (& social media) strategy- Creating a plan on how you are going to build your reputation is vital to your success. Take the time to understand how you can successfully pitch your professional knowledge to a journalist.
