My Women Build Story
What image comes to mind when I think of empowering myself? Rosie the Riveter!

Rosie the Riveter is an iconic WWII image used to recruit women into the work force.  Since the end of the war, this image has become a symbol of feminine capability. Today, this image profoundly resonates within me as a symbol of my capabilities.

When I began building my home, I also began building myself! With every nail I drove and every wall I raised, I built an inner strength housed within the resilience my experience with Habitat was constructing.

How Does Financial Education Help Families?
Future Habitat homeowners participate in financial education classes, often before the building process even begins.

As future homeowners partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home, they work hundreds of hours to secure a better future for themselves and their families.

Those future homeowners work to build their home - and the homes of others - alongside volunteers, but they also take steps that will help ensure their long-term success once they are in the home.

Meet Our Homeowner
Coni's Home is Almost Complete and Her Home Dedication is Coming in May!

Coni Bennett is a hard-working single mother of three. She, her son, and two daughters share a two (2) bedroom apartment.

NASCAR driver, Joey Logano, actually helped during the building of Coni's home.
Click here to read more about his experience.

It's a good thing this family it tight-knit because two bedrooms don't provide a great amount of privacy. But tight quarters are only part of the reason Coni began the Habitat homeownership program.
