FREE WEBINAR: Back-to-school challenges for kids impacted by trauma.

September 13th hosted by Julie Beem from Attachment & Trauma Network

It's that time of year...
Back to School means new schedules, routines, teachers, transitions, and generally heightened anxiety. How well is your child's teacher prepared to help them be successful at school? Share this list with the teachers in your life:
10 Things About Childhood Trauma Every Teacher Needs to Know.

For the Teacher
GOOD NEWS FOR FAMILIES IN OHIO!
Cheerful smiling little boy with big backpack jumping and having fun against blue wall. Looking at camera. School concept. Back to School
Ohio is making strides when it comes to children with disabilities, and not just adopted children.  Ohio's new biennial budges speaks about parents and guardians "at risk of relinquishing custody of the youth" and has created a crisis stabilization fund to help families get the necessary treatment for their child. Furthermore,   Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities created a pilot program to assist families whose children have disabilities and volatile behaviors that require expensive treatment. Way to go Ohio!
Let the beginning of the school year be an opportunity...an opportunity for you to take care of you....to breathe again. As much as we love our children, breaks are nice! And necessary. Hopefully with the children back at school, you will have a little rest and relief from the daily struggles and interactions with little Suzy or Johnny. If you are homeschooling it is imperative to have a system in place to receive occasional respite.
AFC is a coalition of parents who understand firsthand the challenges that come with kids who need healing from trauma. Feel free to reach out with ideas and/or questions on living life in the trenches.

Sincerely,
