Autumn Leaves-1
Commentary November 24, 2010
Greetings!

So often the pace of life and the demands of our responsibilities prevent us from noticing the little flowers along the path waving to us as we pass by or feeling the soft stroking of a gentle breeze.

There is a time to remember that we are not alone and that the world still holds out to us its promises and joys.

That time is memorialized in the holiday of Thanksgiving!

In the poem below, the beautiful words of the Scottish poet Elsie N. Brady
bring to life the magic of this time of year.

On behalf of all of us at Lenders Compliance Group, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a safe and restful Thanksgiving!

How silently they tumble down ...
How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.
