The "Home Delivery" approach

What is it?

The latest content from the sites you are interested in individually emailed to you.

Requirements?

An email account

Benefits over RSS?

(1) Each site sends its own email and that separation of information makes it easier to keep track of the information you want to read more thoroughly or keep. (2) It's easy to store away specific articles to read later.

How to sign up?

On a blog or webpage look for a button or icon that looks like the Feedburner logo above, an email icon, a subscribe link or a subscription box with a place to enter your email. You will get a verification email from Feedburner. Don't forget to click the link in the email to confirm your email address!

The "Headline News" approach

What is it?

The latest content from the sites you are interested in consolidated in one personal and convenient location.

Requirements?

A feed reader (Google Reader is a great choice because nothing has to be downloaded or installed on your computer.)

Benefits over Feedburner?

(1) Ensures your privacy because you do not have to give your email address to get content additions and updates. (2) One spot for reading all the latest content.

How to sign up?

Decide on a feed reader and set that up. On a blog or website look for a button or icon that looks like the RSS logo above or a RSS link.
