Tips on How to Use Music
to Change Your Mood: 
  1. Sing a Song! - Singing lifts our spirits and changes our mood. Find a song that puts a smile on your face! You may have your own favorites, but here are some great songs to sing to lift your spirit:
    1. You Are My Sunshine - see my CD's for more early 1900 hits
    2.  I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash
    3. Walking On Sunshine - Katrina & the Waves
    4. Firework - Katy Perry
    5. You Raise Me Up - Josh Grobin
    6. 
  2. Play the Drums! - Even if you don't have a drum, use your desk at work, your coffee table, or even your own lap. When I was a kid, I used the pots and pans in mom's kitchen! Drumming has been proven to change your mood, lower your blood pressure, strengthen your immune system, reverse stress, and so much more. Here's a great method to change your mood:
    1. Express your mood on the drum,
    2. then take a deep breath,
    3. then express the mood you'd like to have.
    4. Have fun with it!
    5. 
  3. Listen to Relaxing Music! - Take some time for yourself to relax and listen to beautiful music. One of the greatest ways to relax and change your mood is by listening to the music of :
    1. Mozart - this Mozart for Relaxation CD is very nice.  Listening to the music of Mozart has been shown to calm listeners.  The rhythms, melodies, and frequencies spark the creative and motivational parts of the brain.  This is a great to help relax your mind and heart.
    2. Gregorian Chant Music - has a therapeutic effect on the body, mind, heart, and spirit. It has a calming effect and has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety and depression, and more... I recommend the CD "Chant" by The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo, as a good place to start.

 

I am available to Sing and for HealthRHYTHMS drumming events for the senior community, church retreats, and the corporate enviornment.

  •  We will guide you through 22 drumming rhythms including:  7 Rhythms of Life, 8 Rhythms of Spirit, & 7 Rhythms of the World
  • You will have the opportunity to Personalize your Healing Drum and make your own drum mallet. 
  • You will also Receive your own Healing Drum Kit which includes: A quality 10" REMO™ frame drum, 24 Rhythm Cards that liberate creative energy, 2 CDs of music for solo play or "drum circle jams", Spiral-bound study guide with scientific evidence on drumming for wellness, and more.
