Are you interested in serving first-year students? Apply to be a 2015 GEWW Crew member! 
As a GEWW Crew member, you'll have an opportunity to facilitate small group discussions, help new students transition to college, build leadership & communication skills, and more!
Applications are due on Friday, March 6, 2015 
Participate in the Campus Recyclethon
The Recyclethon begins February 9 and ends March 6. Teams collect recyclable material from campus, and weigh their items once a week. The team with the highest weight at the end of the competition wins, and each winning team member will receive their choice of a $100 Barnes and Noble gift card or $100 in Eagle Dining Dollars.
*This year there will be a separate student division, so student organizations won't have to compete with university departments.

Skate Expo

Enactus is teaming up with Brazen Skateboards of Hattiesburg, MS to put on a Skateboarding Competition in Petal, MS.
The date will be March 7 from 1 - 5pm at the Petal Skate Park.
Come out and show support. There will be food, drinks, and tons of fun
!


This Big Event
The Big Event is back! For the fifth straight year Southern Miss is hosting this great day of community service for its students to get involved in serving our campus and our city. Our students will participate in work and service projects all over the Hattiesburg area and will be able to make a huge impact on our local churches, schools, and businesses. NRHH Careoke
NRHH will be having a Careoke event on Tuesday, March 17 to benefit Relay For Life. This event will be held in R.C. Lounge from 7 - 9 pm. This is an event to raise money, as a result, please bring money so that we can crown a winner. All proceeds will be donated to Relay For Life. There will be a first and second place winner. Come out and sing on St. Patrick's Day!
MFTSO 5k - March 28, 2015  
Grab your running shoes! The Sprint into Spring 5k is coming!

the Marriage and Family Therapy Student Organization for their
1st Annual Sprint Into Spring 5k!

When? March 28th, 2015 at 8am

Where? Race will begin and end at Pride Field (USM Hattiesburg Campus)

Cost? Early registration (up until the day of race) $20. Registration on race day $25. USM Student Registration $15.

T-shirts? Every great even calls for a great t-shirt. So, yes! But, t-shirts are only guaranteed to the first 100 who register.

Who's sponsoring this? The Marriage and Family Student Organization

What will this support? Proceeds will go to support the activities of the Marriage and Family Therapy Student Organization including university and community outreach, research, and professional development.

How do I register? You can register here.

Is early registration packet pickup available? Yes! Available 4pm-7pm the day before the race at the University Clinic for Family Therapy located at 3502 Morningside Drive.

What time does registration start on race day? 7:15am

RHA March of Dimes Philanthropy
The Residence Hall Association will be holding its annual RAVE on Monday, March 30th. As part of the RAVE, we will be holding a philanthropy competition between student groups on campus. This year RHA has chosen March of Dimes as the organization in which we will focus our philanthropic efforts but we need YOUR help. We invite you and your student organization to participate in a March of Dimes Fundraising competition. The student organization that raises the most money for the March of Dimes foundation will not only receive community service hours and be crowned the 2015 RHA Philanthropy campus winners, but will also have a portion of the amount raised during the competition donated in the name of their organization! If you are interested in more information or would like to sign your organization up please email [email protected]. Together your organization along with the Residence Hall Association can make a difference in the lives of many families. Together we can work hard for stronger, healthier babies.

SGA Judicial Board Update
The SGA Judicial Board meets every Monday at 3:30pm in TCC 227 to hear appeals.

Ticketing 
* Parking Management begins ticketing from 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday - Friday every week. 
* Students get one warning per academic year (e.g. if a student parks in faculty and staff, they will first get a warning during their first offense but on the second offense, he or she will get a monetary ticket 
* All reserved areas-> AUTOMATIC TICKET (e.g. handicap, special parking, mandatory tow zones, fire zones, tow away zones, service zones, etc.) This is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please note that no warning is given in this situation, it is an AUTOMATIC TICKET.

Meter Parking  
* The meters only take quarters. One quarter equates to 15 minutes (all meters). 
* Wilber Stout Hall (Meter Parking)-> These meters will only allow you to park for 2 hours. 
* Thad Cochran Center (Meters) -> 30 minutes 
* Southern Hall (Meters) -> 2 hours 
* Clyde Kennard Building (Meters) -> 2 hours 
* Owings McQuigge (Meters) -> 30 minutes 
* NOTE: Even if you put more money (quarters) in the meter, you will not get extra time. Students will only get the allotted time of the meter.

  • Monday, January 26, 10am - noon 
  • Friday, February 27, 2pm- 4pm
  • Thursday, April 9, 9:30am - 11:30am
