Alpha Chi Omega's 1st Annual Walk-a-Mile in Her Shoes
The women of Alpha Chi Omega are excited to host their First Annual philanthropic event, "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes". They are honored to partner with this International movement to create a night dedicated to Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness. The shocking truth is that one in four women are victims of domestic and sexual violence. Chances are many people that you know have been touched by this violence. We have the unique chance to raise awareness about Domestic and Sexual Violence and prevent further victims and they need your help!
The event will be held the evening of April 16th, 2015 from 5:30 - 8:00pm at Pride Field. The University of Southern Mississippi's Student Counseling Services will be cosponsoring the event.
They would greatly appreciate your attendance and participation at this event. Please contact Rachel Adinolfi, VP of Philanthropy, with any questions at [email protected] or 504-232-1146.

CPSG VooDoo 5K
The University of Southern Mississippi's Counseling Psychology Student Government is collaborating with the Downtown Crawfish Jam to host our 3rd annual VooDoo Run 5K charity race.

The race will occur in downtown Hattiesburg on the morning of Saturday April 18, 2015. Participants will have the option to run/walk a 5K route while being chased by zombies portrayed by actors or they can volunteer to dress up as zombies.

All proceeds from the race will support psychological services for individuals in the Hattiesburg community living with mental illness who typically cannot afford those services.

Please visit their Facebook page to learn more about volunteer options and to access the pre-registration site.

Paid Internships with University Communications

The Office of University Communications will have three paid undergraduate intern positions available in the near future. These include a social media intern position, a general office intern position, and a news and media relations intern position. Each of these positions has a projected start date of May 11, 2015. However, UC is always willing to work with students to meet academic and personal commitments when schedule conflicts arise. UC is also more than willing to work with academic units when possible to have the internship count for academic credit.

If you are interested in applying please contact Cassie Oubre at [email protected].
