SGA & Union and Programs Survey
In an attempt to maximize the potential of our student union, SGA and the Union and Programs department are working together to survey students about the current state of the union complex.

This short survey could result in some major changes in the union, so student feedback is of the utmost importance! If you could pass the link below on to your students and groups, it would be quite helpful, as we attempt to collect the data. Two survey participants will win a $25 Eagle Dining gift card, but this survey is a really great opportunity for students to tell the university their opinion about the union and its potential.

Complete the survey here!

Thank you for your participation!

Student Organization Funding Available from Student Government Association

The Senate Budgets and Appointments Committee wishes to inform all student organizations registered with the Office of Student Activities of the funding opportunities that the Student Government Association (SGA) has made available for them. This letter is to make all organizations aware of this opportunity and how to take advantage of it.

This year SGA has set aside funds for the Senate Budgets and Appointments Committee to consider applications and conduct hearings of student organizations needing funding. If your organization would like to apply for these funds please thoroughly read through Article V of the Senate By-Laws for the rules and regulations associated with Student Organizational Funding before completing this application. The application can be found online at southernmisssga.org.

The second round of allocations this semester will be held over the following three weeks. The application will be open from February 17 - February 28, and hearings will be held the week of March 3.

Please complete all required fields and schedule a hearing appointment by 5:00 pm on the application deadline. This year, hearings are first-come, first-served and occur during the week immediately after the application round closes. Late applications will be voided and will not receive any funding. Failure to show up for your scheduled hearing will result in your application being voided and no funding will be awarded. As you are completing your application, please consider the following points:

* Student Organizational Funds cannot be allocated for general organization use. Any organization wishing to receive funding must submit a detailed project proposal outlining the specific usage of funds.
* Unfortunately, it is impossible to fully fund every project submitted for consideration. The committee will therefore consider both the impact of the project on the campus community and an organization's financial need before making final allocations. Those projects that stand the best chance of being funded will provide a clear benefit to the student body, educational or otherwise.
* A full list of Student Organizational Fund guidelines can be found in Article V of the SGA Senate By-Laws (http://www.usm.edu/sga/senate-laws-student-government-association).
* All applicants must be registered with the Office of Student Activities for the 2013-2014 academic year. If an organization is not registered, please contact the Office of Student Activities at (601) 266-4403.

Please feel free to contact me at any point throughout this process at [email protected]. I look forward to helping you and your organization improve the Southern Miss community! SMTTT!
