Come to Ashley's Tonight (4/1) for a Very Special Tap Takeover Event

For three decades, Ashley's has been bringing you the best in the world of beer, from our unmatched selection of microbrewed draft ales and lagers to our equally impressive assortment of bottled offerings. Yet in talking with some of our customers, we've come to realize that we've overlooked some of the greatest beers out there, and so we've been working hard behind the scenes to rectify that oversight.

That's why we're proud to announce tonight's very special event, a first in the long history of Ashley's. You asked for it, you got it: the Ashley's Budweiser Tap Takeover! Join us as we enjoy draft after draft of the diverse and flavorful lineup of Budweiser products (see sidebar)

Plus, there will be a special 8pm tapping of a keg of vintage Budweiser ("born on" 1997) we found in a dusty corner of the cellar. You won't want to miss out on a chance to try this rare beer! But plan to be here at 6pm when the Bud girls kick off an evening of fun, games, giveaways, and more (see below). Join us in this celebration of these All-American beers from this All-American brewery!

Ashley's has also received a permit from the city of Ann Arbor to close off State Street for some special outdoor events. In addition to a beer tent, we will have an area fenced off for a Budweiser petting zoo. Bring your children and entertain them with the zoo's dogs, frogs, aBudweiser horsend penguins while you enjoy your Bud beers. Several Clydesdale horses will also be available to give rides around the block.

Most craft brewers put their money into their product but at Bud, they put the money into ads featuring animals and people saying "Whassup?" Come taste the difference!

Meet the AB InBev Brewery Rep

ch InBev may still be the biggest beer company in the world, but with shipments falling for three straight years, the folks behind Budweiser have realized the importance of personally connecting with their customers. During this special Budweiser event, Ashley's customers will be able to interact with an AB InBev rep, who will explain the company's newest strategy for staving off competition, as recently reported in the Wall Street Journal: threatening wholesalers who do not show the proper "loyalty" to InBev by distributing fewer craft beers.

The rep will also show our guests how to pour Budweiser three different ways and get three different tastes and explain how AB InBev uses real ingredients in their beers, like CO2. Prepare to be amazed!

Response from the Craft Beer Industry

One prominent craft brewer, realizing the greatness of Budweiser, has some advice for Ashley's customers and other beer drinkers:

"We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory-maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it's made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beverage will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make things taste better."

*If you think you've seen this rep before, he did star in a major motion picture about total world domination and human subjugation, a theme the folks at AB InBev aspire to as well.

Help Budweiser Develop New Slogans

Whassup?AB InBev has heard that "with it" companies are using customers to help in their marketing. (They are familiar with using customers, but not to help.) We said we could assist them by coming up with new slogans. Vote for which one you like the best:
  • Yellow fizzy waters-r-us
  • We will sell no beer before it is invoiced
  • Why drink good beer when you can drink cheap beer?
  • What's "whassup" got to do with beer?

We look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events, and be sure to keep up on future newsletters for other great events and updates!

Cheers,

Budweiser Tap Takeover
April 1, 6pm

Budweiser is a brand known for great taste and variety. To showcase these great qualities, Ashley's is proud to offer a dozen taps of awesome Bud products. (Or see them all come out of the same tap and you won't notice the difference, anyway.)

The Frosty Mug

Ashley's does not normally refrigerate or freeze its glassware, but we know some beers require special serving techniques.

For the Bud tap takeover, we will ensure our glassware is properly frosted so you can enjoy the great taste of every Bud draft at the brewery-recommended optimal temperature: near freezing.

This serving technique has been consistently shown to be best way to enjoy hide the flavor of any Bud product. Cheers!
