22-23 September I World Conference on Indigenous People #WCIP2014
Convened as a high-level plenary meeting of the 69th Session of the Assembly, the two-day World Conference is expected to draw over a thousand indigenous and non-indigenous delegates who will have the opportunity to share perspectives and best practices on the realization of their rights.

Human Development Report 2014 - Sustaining Human Progress: Reducing Vulnerabilities and Building Resilience
The 2014 Report focuses on those that are at greatest risk and on key underlying drivers of vulnerability. Indigenous peoples constitute around 5% of the world's population but account for 15% of the world's poor. The 2014 Report takes the view that vulnerability threatens human development and, unless it is systematically addressed, progress will be neither equitable nor sustainable.
