In response to the overwhelming devastation from Hurricane Harvey, the Bishop of Charleston, the Most Rev. Robert E. Guglielmone, has asked that a special collection for the victims of Hurricane Harvey be taken up during one of the following two weekends, Sept. 9-10 or Sept. 16-17.
Our Lady of the Lake will take up this collection the weekend of
September 16-17.
There are three ways to donate.
- You may give now and until 17 September on-line through our parish On-Line Giving site at: OLL On-line Giving.
- You may give in the Sunday Collection by check. If you choose to write a check, PLEASE - make the check out to "Our Lady of the Lake" and write "Hurricane Harvey" in the memo field. *
- You may give cash in the Sunday Collection. If you choose to give cash – PLEASE place the cash in an envelope and mark the envelope "Hurricane Harvey". **
All MONIES
collected
(100%)
go directly to the aid of those suffering from this tragic storm.
The parish will send ONE check to the diocese for Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts
.
All monies collected from the diocese will then be sent to
Catholic Home Mission
, a sub-committee of the USCCB on which Bishop Guglielmone is a member. The USCCB and Catholic Home Missions will then ensure all monies go to the various dioceses in Texas that were impacted by the storm for distribution to those parishes and individuals in need as determined by the local diocese.
Please make your donation on or before 17 September. Thank you.
