Fifty-seven University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty and staff members invited 117 international students into their homes as a part of a program called Dinner in a Nebraska Home. The program, sponsored by Student Engagement, strives to introduce international students to an aspect of daily life in Nebraska by connecting the students with university employees. On Feb. 28, the LGBTQA+ Resource Center hosted Survey and Slices, a fun, low-stress event where 30 students enjoyed free pizza as they completed the Center’s online Campus Climate Survey. The survey, which consists of 150 questions and takes 30 minutes to complete, gives university staff and faculty a better understanding of how the campus climate affects LGBTQA+ students. Read more>>

In February, Student Involvement partnered with multiple departments to host recognized student organization (RSO) workshops. Topics for student leaders included risk management, motivation and inspiration, civil discourse and navigating the Student Organization Financial Services (SOFS). Read more>>

As Daylight Saving Time neared, the University Health Center’s Healthy Huskers educated students about the importance of developing healthy sleep habits. The UHC again will provide education and giveaways to students March 14-16 during a Spring Break Wellness Giveaway promotion. Read more>>

On Mar. 10, Campus NightLife hosted Foodie Fest, an event that combined a “Chopped” cooking competition with meal preparation demonstrations from Dining Services and a food drive for the Huskers Helping Huskers Pantry+. Read more>>

As part of the 8th Annual UNL Employee and Retiree Quilt Show, two staff members from the Division of Student Affairs have their works on display. Kathlene Bateman, clerical assistant in University Housing, submitted three quilts, and Debbie Hendricks, executive secretary in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, submitted two quilts. The University Association for Administrative Development (UAAD) presented Robin Bowman with the Floyd S. Oldt Award at its Founders’ Day luncheon on Feb. 15. The award recognizes employees who demonstrate exceptional service and dedication to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Read more>>

Nebraska students and others from surrounding campuses joined the members of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. for InvAsian Under the Sea on Saturday, March 11. The sold-out talent show featured dance groups, singers, instrumentalists and strollers. Sponsors for this year's event included Student Affairs' Pepsi Diversity Program Fund, the Office of Academic Support and Intercultural Services, Residence Hall Association Read more>>

Students, faculty, staff, and the community are invited to drop off used athletic shoes and soccer shoes at the three campus recreation facilities – Rec & Wellness Center, Outdoor Adventures Center, and Campus Rec Center – from March 1 to April 28. Read more>>
