HYACKS OPEN LEAGUE PLAY ON FRIDAY IN VICTORIA
The pre-season is over, the California trip and Homecoming are behind us, and now finally the Varsity Hyacks will open league play on Friday against Mt Douglas in the Provincial capital. Following a bye week, the Hyacks are healthy and rested, and will take on a Rams team that is a perennial power in BC, having won 4 provincial titles in the past 6 seasons. This will also be a battle of two of the top 5 ranked teams in BC.
The Hyacks enter league play with a 2-1 record in their non-conference schedule. Receiver
has made an early impact for the Hyacks with 4 TDs in two games, including a pair on kick returns.
has been dominant defensively, and the backfield of Sidhu,
is ready for the opportunity to take a game over on the ground. In addition the offensive and defensive lines are deep and should be able to withstand the rigours of playing in the toughest conference in BC, the AAA West.
The team will be meeting at Mercer Stadium at 9 am on Friday and departing by bus to Tsawwassen for the 11 am ferry.
