While motorists driving on northbound I-215 between 2nd and 3rd streets may not see a lot of activity from the mainline, it's a very different perspective at the street level.

During the past several weeks, crews have been building a new retaining wall that will run parallel to a frontage road alongside of northbound I-215 and Fairview Ford.

In the coming weeks, an abutment on the south side of 3rd Street and the wall will be formed and poured. The forms on the north abutment at 3rd Street were removed this week.

The highly anticipated 27th Street/Mt. Vernon Avenue southbound I-215 ramps are nearing completion.

The new ramps will provide another option to accessing Highland Avenue area businesses and residences as well as as southbound I-215.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for an update on the timing of the opening of these ramps.
