Retaining Walls Go Up for New NB I-215 Lanes Near Downtown
Retaining Wall Near 2nd
New retaining wall and abutment near 2nd Street.

A big transformation is taking place along the new northbound I-215 lanes between 2nd Street and 3rd Street that some people may not yet have seen.

During the past two weeks, crews have been hard at work building the retaining walls that will run along the new frontage road. Concrete pours have been taking place throughout this stretch and the aesthetic wallscapes of the San Bernardino Mountains are becoming more evident with each week.

 Worker Scaling Wall

A construction worker uses safety equipment to scale the wall and secure the forms ahead of a concrete pour.

Also unveiled this week is the wallscape of the Super Chief train, which embodies the rich rail history in the San Bernardino Valley.

Super TrainThe Super Chief train was a state-of-the-art locomotive - and a favorite choice for celebrities traveling between Los Angeles and Chicago with a stop in San Bernardino.
