Free thanksgiving at Moe's on Ten
Donations from Wednesday, Nov. 23 dinner to support area needy for holidays

Moe Leon and his family are once again opening the doors of Moe's on Ten for a free thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

This annual tradition is open to the public, and members of the Novi Police and Fire Departments will be on hand to serve the meal.

While the dinner is free, donations are appreciated as they will go to support area needy during the holidays.

The City of Novi also is providing free transportation beginning at 3pm. Reservations are required and can be requested by calling 248.735.5617 by noon on Monday, Nov. 21.

Moe's on Ten is located at 39455 W. Ten Mile, just west of Haggerty Road. For more information, call 248.478.9742.

E-Waste event takes place 9-1pm on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Novi Civic Center
RRRASOC

Get rid of your old electronic waste at the  Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southwest Oakland County (RRRASOC) E-waste event from 9-1pm on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Novi Civic Center.

E-waste is the fastest growing portion of the municipal waste stream, and many of these products can be reused, refurbished or recycled.

Examples of E-waste acceptable items include, desktop computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, laptops, scanners, DVD & VHS players, radios, stereo equipment, electrical cords, cell phones, televisions, and holiday lights among others. Items that will not be accepted include, household appliances, dehumidifiers and air conditioners.

Light Up the Night in Novi!
Santa stops by the Civic Center campus to kickoff the holidays on Friday, Dec. 2

Kickoff the holiday season in Novi at the annual Light Up the Night event from 6-9pm on Friday, Dec. 2.

Mayor Bob Gatt and his friend from the North Pole will start the festivities by lighting the holiday tree at 6:15pm. A must-see fireworks show follows Santa's arrival.

The free community event also includes a craft show, kids' activities and games, hayrides, s'mores, petting farm, ice sculptures, reindeer, live entertainment from the Mexico Lindo Ballet Folklorico, Family Self Defense Martial Arts and Novi Middle School orchestra, and free food samples from several local restaurants.

Families can also catch a shuttle to the Novi Public Library where they can enjoy shows by John the Magician at 7 & 8pm and Dan Dan the Choo Choo Man miniature train rides from 6:30-9pm.

City offices closed for holidays
Novi Civic Center, Meadowbrook Activity Center closed, Nov. 11, 24 & 25

The Novi Civic Center and Meadowbrook Activity Center will be closed on Veterans Day (Nov. 11), Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24) and the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25).

However, the Novi Public Library will be open on Veterans Day and the day after Thanksgiving.
