Last call for free mammograms
Screenings covered by most insurances, will only take 15 minutes to complete

If you or someone you know are over the age of 40 and have yet to have your yearly mammogram, don't wait!

To make it more convenient for residents,  the City has partnered  with Providence Park Hospital to bring its mobile mammography unit to the Novi Civic Center on Oct. 18. All women in the community over the age of 40 are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to get screened. 

You can make an appointment by calling  248.567.0316  or emailing wduvall@cityofnovi.org and completing the registration form found on cityofnovi.org.  Appointment times are on a first come basis.

Novi Fire offers free car seat check
Licensed technicians onsite from 9-noon, Saturday, Oct. 15 at Fire Station No. 4

Make sure your child safety seat is installed properly by having it done by one of the Novi Fire Department's four certified and licensed Child Passenger Safety Technicians.

The department will be hosting a free Car Seat Safety Check on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9-noon at Fire Station No. 4, 49375 Ten Mile Road.

Community members are asked to bring the vehicle's owner's manual, the car seat owner's manual and, if possible, the child who will be "properly secured" in the safety seat to the inspection.

It should only take about 25 minutes for the installation and safety check process. For more information about this program, which also can be scheduled in advance, visit cityofnovi.org.
Find a gift at Novi arts & craft show
Over 180 juried crafters on hand from 10-4pm, Oct. 15, at Novi High School

Get an early start on your holiday shopping while supporting the Novi Athletic Boosters at the fourth annual Novi Holiday Arts & Crafts Show on Oct. 15 at Novi High School. 

More than 180 jury-selected crafters will be on hand from 10-4pm showcasing the finest in handmade arts and crafts. Some of the products that will be available for purchase are sewn items, embroidery, quilting, knitting, paintings, wood crafts, candles, handmade soaps and more.

There is a $3 charge to enter the show (10 and under are free), and all proceeds will benefit the Novi Athletic Boosters.
Novi Youth Council seeks members
City looking for engaged youth who want to make a difference in the community

Help play a role in improving Novi by applying to become a member of the Novi Youth Council.

This 21-member group is charged with making recommendations to the City Council concerning the needs of children and families in the city, and the appropriate means by which public and private agencies in cooperation with volunteer efforts may address such needs.

Those interested must be Novi residents at the high school level. The two-year term limit is from January-December, a change from the previous years when it was September-June.

Addicted to Movies, Not Drugs
All-night movie marathon takes place Monday, Nov. 7 at Emagine Novi

Buy your tickets now for the always sold out Addicted to Movies, Not Drugs event at Emagine Novi on Monday, Nov. 7.

This all-night movie marathon features four movies, popcorn, pizza and soda throughout the evening for only $10 per person. Teens in grades 7-12 from Novi and the surrounding area are invited, and a student ID will be required at check in.

All money from the event goes to support drug prevention and education and is used by the Novi Youth Council.
