Only a few spots left in free 8-week course that goes behind the scenes of Novi

Don't miss out on the chance to get engaged with your community through the Novi Ambassador Academy program.

The annual Academy, which takes place over eight consecutive weeks from 6-8pm starting Sept. 6 and ending Oct. 25, is nearly full.

Academy "students" will examine the inner workings of Novi's government as we peel back the layers of each City department. There will be presentations from staff members, facility tours and hands-on learning experiences. A graduation reception is included at the conclusion of the Academy.

For more information or to register, call 248.347.0416 or visit cityofnovi.org. Participants must be Novi residents or Novi business owners.
Road work starts soon on Crescent
Business will remain open throughout project, which starts after Labor Day

A much needed road construction project will start on Tuesday, September 6 on Crescent Boulevard east of Novi Road in the Novi Town Center.

The contractor will start with the south or eastbound lanes, meaning traffic will be shifted to two-way traffic on the north or westbound lanes. This work should take about a month before traffic will shift to the newly completed eastbound lanes and closing the westbound half.  A roundabout also will be constructed at Crescent and Town Center to make it a more efficient and safe intersection.

Because four lanes of traffic will be reduced to only two lanes, it is highly recommended that patrons visiting Novi Town Center businesses south of Crescent please do so by using either Crowe Drive from Novi Road or Town Center Drive from Grand River Avenue. For patrons of the four restaurants on the north side of Crescent Boulevard (Famous Dave's, Olive Garden, Red Robin and TGI Friday's), access will be provided ONLY from Novi Road using Crescent Boulevard.

Access to all of the businesses on Crescent Boulevard and in Novi Town Center will available throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete by Nov. 1.
