Creating Hope Act
On July 10, 2015, the House of Representatives voted to reauthorize the Creating Hope Act when the House passed the 21st Century Cures Act (H.R. 6).  H.R. 6 modernizes federal regulatory processes that often stand in the way of new products and treatments being made available to patients.  The legislation expands funding for the National Institutes for Health (NIH) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to support promising new research and approval of new therapies.  The legislation also recognizes and harnesses the tremendous potential of relatively new scientific concepts such as personalized medicine and the development of medical apps. The Creating Hope Act provides incentives for companies to develop drugs for kids with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
Think Outside The Box
There are many ways to get involved to help the Foundation continue to offer hope to children and their families fighting cancer.  Is your child about to celebrate a birthday?  Let's say your child is turning 8. Ask everyone for an $8 donation for the I Back Jack Foundation or come up with your own inspiring idea. Also, consider the Foundation for memorials, wedding, anniversary or other celebratory gift ideas.  Be creative. Think outside the box and know that every dollar counts.
