Trial Funding - Photofrin

Last month we shared the outstanding news that we raised more than a quarter-million dollars in 2014, including more than $200,000 at the 6th Annual Back to School Event, in September.  This resulted in the Foundation being able to fund the expansion of a Photofrin trial for pediatric brain tumors directed by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. In simple terms, this trial offers non-toxic light therapy to both detect and treat brain tumors in children avoiding unnecessary radiation.

Two outstanding pediatric hospitals have been invited to join the study: Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  I Back Jack's full support of this expansion means that our reach once again takes us coast to coast.

Both institutions have verbally agreed to participate in the study and formal agreements are being finalized, the precursor to opening the sites.  The I Back Jack Foundation is proud to be an advocate and partner in the quest for new treatments while making a difference for children locally and nationally.  
Bartosz Family and the NFL
Aaron Rodgers was proudly named one of three finalists for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, a distinction given to players for their work off the field. As part of Aaron's video tribute, the Bartosz family was interviewed by NFL Films about Rodgers involvement with childhood cancer. 

What was believed to be a story about Aaron and childhood cancer turned out to be a story about Aaron and one of his heroes . . . Jack.

Successful Blood Drive

We had a great turnout for the 3rd Annual Blood Drive in Memory of Jack and Christopher on January 31st! Many thanks to all those who waited lovingly and patiently to donate this lifesaving gift. 102 units of blood were collected which can save up to 306 lives!
