Our goal was to make 2014 the year of children, the year of gold, the year of opportunity, the year of hope. Because of you and your dedication, it was that and so much more. It was a year of accomplishment - we raised more than a quarter-million dollars in 2014, including more than $200,000 at the 6th Annual Back to School Event, in September.
Among the highlights from the Back to School event was a special matching gift appeal that raised more than $80,000 in just 15 minutes. This resulted in the Foundation being able to fund the expansion of a Photofrin trial for pediatric brain tumors directed by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. I Back Jack Foundation is proud to be an advocate and partner in the quest for new treatments while making a difference for children locally and nationally.
By supporting the Foundation, we are able to fulfill Jack's wish of making the world a happier, healthier place for children battling cancer. Doctors everywhere agree that there is an urgent need to provide novel treatments that are not only potent to improve survival, but also have limited toxicity to enhance overall quality of life.
We have achieved so much but there is still work to be done. The only thing holding back science from finding new and better treatments for kids is funding. Period. We know change can occur. We know advancements can be made. We know new treatments will exist. But we know we can't do it alone.
The I Back Jack Foundation continues our relentless pursuit to back research, inspire hope, and defeat childhood cancer. By working together, we will be successful and make a difference.
