Refugees on our Minds!

Last week we honored World Refugee Day along with thousands of international organizations and United Nations' agencies by urging people to focus on the plight of those who have been displaced by famine, war, and oppression.

Latest U.N. report indicates that there are currently over 65 million refugees in today's world--the highest number in recorded history. They have been forced to flee their home due to life-threatening conditions ranging from drought and famine to religious persecution or war.

Although Child Foundation is a small charity in compare to U.N agencies but we have been very active in providing support to families Syrian refugees in Greece, Afghan refugees who had escaped Taliban's cruelty and brutality, Haitians who lost their homes in Matthew Hurricane and Nepalese who fled their homes when the earthquake happened.

But we are not done yet; there are much more refugees who are in need. They need food, cloth, medicine, a safe shelter to live. I encourage you to donate to support Child Foundation's lifesaving refugee fund so we can continue helping refugees by clicking here.

Fatemeh Needs OUR Help!
Fatemeh's face as burned 17 years ago when she was only 40 days old. For the first nine years of Fatemeh's life, her parents had been taking her to different hospitals in Ahvaz for reconstructive surgeries on her face and eyes. Until the doctors told them that they to wait until she reaches her maturity age to do more plastic surgery.

Now that she is 17, the parent has resumed her medical procedures using loans and their friends' donations, but it is not enough. So far, Fatemeh has had four surgeries on her eyes and four on her face, but she needs eight more operations which are beyond her family's financial ability.

Fatemeh always had excellent GPA in her primary and middle schools, but in the last two years, her GPA has dropped due to constant trips to Tehran for medical visits and surgeries. She studies science in high school and always wanted be a scientist.

Fatemeh is a resilience girl who, against all the odds, has survived this accident and fought her way to stand on her feet. It is time for us to help her finish the surgeries and get on with her life and love of becoming a fantastic scientist.

Please donate to Fatemeh's Fund and read more about her, here .
1000 Food Basket for 1000 Families

Child Foundation's most popular program around this time of year has been " One Thousand Baskets for One Thousand Families". Last year, we were able to help more than one thousand families in different countries.

The program is usually initiated just before the start of the month of Ramadan, which is the traditional month of fasting, but also of genuine selflessness and display of charity to others.

The program's success and popularity mainly comes from its simple but powerful message of providing a month's worth of dietary allowance for 1,000 families around the world-- all at a time when food is most often scarce and prices too high.

As you know, Child Foundation is NOT a religious organization, nor does it ever get involved with projects like this based on religious or ideological grounds. What we are doing is providing the most basic of necessities (in this case, food) to families with children during a time of year when the need is probably highest and the pressure is simply too much to bear alone.

This year, we estimate the cost of these families' food packages at $50 for small and $90 for larger families.

I Can Walk Again, Thank You
Khal Mohammad, Hamidollah, and Alim were victims of terrorists in Afghanistan. Khal Mohammad was working as a package courier when he was hired to deliver a package to a bank. He didn't know that there was a bomb inside which exploded as he got to the bank. Hamidollah and Allim were moving their cattle to a field when they accidentally walked into a minefield.

We reported their situation in our April 2016, January, 2017, and March 31 newsletter.
We are happy to report that we were able to send Khal-Mohammad and Hamidollah to Italy for further medical care and getting a new prostatic leg. Thanks to Soraia, our wonderful volunteer who arranged their medical treatment in Italy for free.

All three young boys are still in need of medical treatment. If you wish to help them, please donate to their medical fund here.

Hi, I'm Mobina!
I am a talented 5th-grade student from Mashhad. My parents got divorced due to my father's irresponsible behavior which ended him up in the jail for robbery.

My mother got married again and now has another child. My stepfather is working in a shoe factory, but his income is not enough to cover our living expenses. We all live in a small rental place.

My parents barely can afford our daily expenses let alone education expenses even clothes.

I need your generous help and support to continue my education to have a better future for myself and my family.

Hi, I'm Abulfazl!
I am 13 years old, and although I come from a family with lots of drama and tensions, I have always maintained an excellent GPA. My mother divorced my dad due to his addiction and violent behavior. We live now with my grandfather in his one-bed room apartment.

My only sister is mentally challenged and needs special care as well as my mother who suffers from mental illness caused by her husband's violent behaviors but cannot afford regular doctors' visit.

Our only income is our grandfather's help who is a taxi driver which is not enough.

I love school but need your support to continue my education.
