IAWF Hosts Women's Leadership Conference in Orange County


The Iranian American Women Foundation is excited for its 11th Women's Leadership Conference! The Conference will be hosted on October 30, 2016 at Hotel Irvine in Orange County. It will feature a diverse array of engaging speakers, empowering stories, and will provide opportunities to connect with fellow members of the IAWF community.  Find additional information regarding the speakers and purchase the tickets  here.   We look forward to seeing you in October!

 



Roya Khadjavi Heidari
New York
 
Roya Khadjavi is an independent curator and cultural producer. She has largely focused on the work of young Iranian  artists working both in Iran and beyond its borders, seeking to support their artistic endeavors while facilitating awareness and cultural dialogue between artistic communities. Roya has curated and co-curated several exhibitions, including "Portraits: Reflections by Emerging Iranian Artists," featuring rising talents born, raised and educated in Iran.  Since 2008, she has actively led exhibition committee efforts around the art of the Middle East for institutions including the Guggenheim Museum and the Asia Society, where she sat on the steering committee of the
acclaimed 
exhibit, "Iran Modern." Roya co-founded the Institute of International Education's Iran Opportunities Fund, and currently serves

Mani Ardalan Farhadi
Northern California

Mani Ardalan Farhadi is a creative idea generator, performing as a Senior Programmer, Master Planner and Project Manager. Leveraging her expertise in strategic planning and programming, Mani enjoys leading workshops, goal-setting and visioning, in addition to presenting at professional conferences nationwide. Born in the U.S. and raised in Iran, Mani weaves together aspects from her rich cultural heritage with the complexities of an innovative American life.
She built her practice loyally at two multi-national and interdisciplinary design firms; as an Associate at Sasaki Associates in Watertown, MA and currently Senior Associate at Steinberg (Architects) in San Jose, CA.  Her leadership extends into multiple volunteer duties. Her highest role is being appointed to the Board of Trustees for Los Gatos Union School District, for which she is currently campaigning to be an elected official in 2016-2020 term.  V isit Mani's IAWF profile  here. 
Shahrzad Ardalan 
Southern California

Shahrzad Ardalan was the producer and host of a popular radio show called, "Life is Beautiful" on 670AM-KIRN Radio Iran. In her show, Shahrzad dealt with a variety of issues Iranian-Americans face today, with a positive approach, covering a variety of topics, such as family matters, parenthood, health, and other day-to-day aspects of life. She is now the host of a weekly radio show called, "Peyk e Hafteh." Shahrzad is an active member of the community and has considerable experience working with social and charitable organizations. Her previous involvements include her role as president of Rancho Park Rotary club, president of Coalition of Iranian Entrepreneurs, board member of PAAIA, and a position on the advisory board of ISCC and Pars Equality Center. Join Pars at the SLS Beverley Hills Hotel on October 15 for a memorable night of fun, celebrating philanthropy, the arrival of new immigrants to this beautiful land, and the influx of glorious autumn. Enjoy a delectable sit-down dinner, accompanied by entertainment from acclaimed artist Fariborz Davoodian and the celebrated news anchor, Shirin Rajaee. The program is filled with enjoyable activities, which is not complete without the soothing voice of one of the legends of the golden era of Persian pop music, Martik.  It is only with your support and sponsorship that we are able to expand our legal and social programs and settle newcomers in jobs, while providing them with tools necessary to secure long term employment. Circle of 1,000 Featured Member: Tannaz Mazarei

Tannaz "Tawny" Mazarei graduated from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1990 after obtaining her bachelors of science in Psycho-biology. She graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in December 1996 and was admitted to California bar in 1997. She has been practicing law for approximately fourteen years. Tannaz spent the first ten years of her practice working in two mid-size law firms which practiced general civil litigation. For the past four and half years she has been a partner at the law offices of Farzad & Mazarei. Her practice mainly focuses on family law (divorces, paternity, child custody and support) matters. In addition to practicing law, Tannaz has been active with Farhang Foundation, Working Wardrobes, NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), IABA (Iranian American Bar Association OC Chapter), Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, and IAWF (Iranian- American Women Foundation).V isit Tannaz's IAWF profile   here.
