IAWF Hosts Women's Leadership Conference in Orange County


The Iranian American Women Foundation is excited for its 11th Women's Leadership Conference, taking place in just a few weeks! The Conference will be hosted on  October 30th, 2016 at Hotel Irvine in Orange County. It will feature a diverse array of engaging speakers, empowering stories, and will provide opportunities to connect with fellow members of the IAWF community.  Find additional information regarding the speakers and purchase the tickets  here.   We look forward to seeing you very soon!

IAWF Welcomes our New
 Trustee Member  
 
Nellie is a Vice President at Whittier Trust, a private wealth management firm that works with affluent families across the United States. Nellie's primary responsibilities include business development, marketing and working with second generation clients. She is also responsible for the building and maintaining of professional relationships throughout California. Further, she leads the firm's luxury partnerships with brands such as Tiffany & Co., Tesla and others. Prior to joining Whittier Trust in 2007, Nellie spent several years working in the Houston office of Baker & McKenzie LLP. Nellie earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and her MBA from the University of San Francisco. She is also a graduate of the Cannon Trust School. Nellie is involved in numerous local and global civic and nonprofit organizations. Her previous appointments include serving on the Young Professionals Advisory Board of UCSF Family House and serving as a member of the Grant Advisory Board for PARSA Community Foundation. Currently, Nellie serves a member of various committees with Farhang Foundation and is a New Member Chair with Full Circle Fund, an organization that leverages professionals to help nonprofits launch new initiatives and make greater impacts in the community. Leila Heller
New York
 
Leila Taghinia-Milani Heller received a B.A. from Brown University, a Masters degree from the Sotheby's Institute in London, and a second Masters degree in Art History and Museum Management from George Washington University. During her time in Washington D.C, she worked at the Hirshhorn Museum until she moved to New York to work at the Guggenheim Museum. She has written numerous articles and frequently gives lectures at the Guggenheim, MFA Houston, Brown University, MOCA LA, art fairs and other art institutions around the world. In 1982, she opened Leila Taghinia-Milani Gallery on the Upper East Side of New York City and expanded it in 2011, under the name Leila Heller Gallery, to a ground floor space in Chelsea. Narges Bani Asadi
Northern California

Narges Bani Asadi is the founder and CEO of Bina Technologies. Narges received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tehran, and received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. In graduate school, she became interested in using computational methods and systems to analyze cancer and other complex diseases. Narges and her team won a multimillion dollar grant from the National Cancer Institute for their work. Upon graduation, she started her own company, Bina Technologies, in the heart of Silicon Valley. Bina's products are being used today throughout the country by pharmaceutical companies and clinical research institutions for analyzing and managing genomics information to empower the science of personalized medicine. Narges has led Bina through several successes and recently sold the company to Roche, the largest biotechnology company in the world, to accelerate product and company development.  V isit Narges' IAWF profile  here. 
Donna Ghalambor
Southern California

Donna Ghalambor is a financial and commercial lending consultant with an extensive portfolio of high-net-worth clients in Southern California. She has implemented business development strategies and streamlined finances for a myriad of small and medium-sized businesses. Her fascination with new trends in leadership development, professional excellence, optimal team performance and organizational transformation led to her pursuit of graduate studies at the University of Southern California. Alongside her career and academic endeavors, Donna has been actively engaged in her community and has contributed significantly to various causes revolving around women's well-being, progress and prosperity. Her services include facilitating the Top Performer Coaching Program at Women Helping Women Foundation and chairing registration and volunteer committees at the Iranian American Women Foundation. Visit Donna's IAWF profile  here.
Circle of 1,000 Featured Member: Mojgan Momenan

With more than 25 years of experience in architecture and engineering design, Mojgan is an Associate at Danielian Associates, an award winning Architecture and Planning design firm in Orange County, CA established almost 50 years ago.   As Sr. project manager, Mojgan is the key point of contact with the client and design team, responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of the construction documents.  Mojgan is currently focusing her efforts on Danielian's growing multifamily, mixed-use residential and affordable housing projects.  Most recently she led the team on "Clark Commons workforce housing" project in Buena Park CA, winner of the "Affordable Housing Award" for 2016 Development of the year. She also managed the mixed use "Residences at Westgate" in Pasadena which received the 2016 SOCAL Awards for best Architectural designed Multi Family. Her new "Veterans Transitional Housing project" at March Reserved Airforce base in Riverside, is currently under construction.  Mojgan graduated from the National University in Iran with a degree in Architectural Engineering.
