"PARTNERS IN PROGRESS"
ICCE Annual Fall Conference
Prairie Winds Event Center - Orange City, Iowa
Mark your calendar and plan on attending the Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives Fall Conference October 5-7, 2016 hosted by the Orange City Chamber of Commerce at the Prairie Winds Event Center.

Mike Hofman, Executive Director for the Orange City Chamber and committee members have been working on an agenda that you will not want to miss. As the President, CEO, or Executive Director, along with all Chamber Staff, to your respective Chamber, we always want to learn from one another what's successful and what isn't. Per surveys from past conferences the committee is presenting opportunities for each of you to hear from one another about special events, and talk about board issues, small business issues, what's new in technology/social media, dues structure, marketing items, and managing volunteers. Well you can learn it all from one another at our round table discussions at this year's fall conference.

You will also have an opportunity to hear from a top notch speaker David Aaker, who is an internationally recognized motivational speaker. David offers several programs such as: Customer Service Interactive Seminars, Leadership for Business Success, Strategic Planning Session, Building Better Board and the list goes on. We will also have presentations on what the Chamber Alliance is and how it works with ICCE. We'll hear from the Small Business Development Center, along with other presentations yet to be determined.

Socializing is always of great importance when you're attending ICCE Conferences. We are offering a couple opportunities for those who want to arrive early on Wednesday, October 5th.

8 Ways for Chamber Pros to Get Caught Up at Work
By Marcy Weaver, Executive VP ChamberMaster

In the world of Chamber of Commerce management, extra time is scarce. Learn how to make the most of your day by following these simple tips:

Keyboard Shortcuts
Learn keyboard shortcuts for the computer programs you use regularly. The time you save will really add up.

Internet Time
Limit how many times a day you check social media, news, etc. Otherwise, leave them alone (seriously).

The Black Hole of Email
Schedule specific times of day to check email. This seriously improves productivity. Read and respond, then close your email program.

Separate Work and Personal Emails
By having different email accounts you can avoid answering personal emails at work and work emails at home.

Critical or Important?
When you're overwhelmed and don't know where to start, put tasks into two categories: critical and important. Finish the critical items and then tackle things that are important.

Be Prepared
Save time by putting together tomorrow's game plan today. Before you leave, arrange the details of your day. This way, you can easily prioritize and schedule, which allows you to work more efficiently.

The Exit Plan
You have a work start time, but do you really have a leaving time? If you schedule to leave the office at a specific time, you're more likely to stay on task and be more productive.

Use a Member Management Solution
Manage your organization with software designed specifically for Chambers. It saves a lot of time when it comes to managing day-to-day operations of your Chamber.

Fall Conference Dinner
Because ICCE knows how busy each of you are with summer events, your "100 Year Celebration Committee" decided to celebrate its 100 Years at this year's Fall Conference, Thursday, October 6 th.

We will invite all past ICCE chairs and staff to our Thursday evening dinner. We will have a program of events from the past and introduce all in attendance. We will also have some testimonials from past presidents and staff on how ICCE impacted their careers. Please, let's have a great turn out for the conference. Show those who helped build and develop ICCE into what it is today how much we appreciate all their foresight in making ICCE great.

If you have any past history pictures, please email them to Shar. ( iowachamberexecs@gmail.com )
