New Jersey Coach Connect
December 2016
TopofDoc
From the ICF-NJ President

Dear Members,

I hope this note finds you well and beginning to enjoy the holiday season. It is hard to believe that the year is  about to come to end and 2017 is upon us.

As I reflect back on 2016 and our Chapter, it has become clear to me that 2016 was a year of reflection and transition.  Based on direct feedback from our members and from our Membership survey, you all provided insightful feedback  about what you would like to see in the chapter.

Community Groups: Conversation, Connection and Clients
Specifically among your feedback was to have a more focused Community Group Program.  In response to that request, Karen Delk, Community Group Director, designed a more organized  approach to our community groups.

During 2016, there were 43 Community Group meetings held across 5 different geographies.

Many of the groups meet monthly and discuss a range of topics on professional development, such as the use of assessments to increase clients and revenue, marketing and sales strategies, and tips and tools to grow a successful coaching practice.

Stay tuned: In January we will be announcing some exciting plans for further building our Community Groups in 2017!

Education and Professional Development: Connection and Collaboration
For 2016, we intentionally scaled back on our live events to regroup and look at how we could maximize our live events while also growing our Community Groups.

During 2016, we hosted 6 in person events and 1 webinar with a total of 160 participants. We hosted several amazing speakers, who spoke about business development topics, such as using LinkedIn, Networking, and Marketing, as well as enhancing our coaching skills with the Art of Questions.

We joined up with the Northern NJ Association for talent Development (NNJ ATD) and National Speakers Association (NSA) NJ Chapter to provide networking opportunities with professionals of complementary professions and learn how to master storytelling for maximum influence and impact.

We also teamed up with the ICF-Maryland Chapter to bring you "Coaching for Performance: An Evolution in Organizational Excellence" at the Rutgers University Business School.

Shefali Salwan joined the board as our Education and Professional Development (EPD) Director and has been working diligently to curate our programs for 2017, inclusive of a Community Program and an outreach program for International Coach Week.

I want to extend a great BIG Thank You to our board members from 2016 for their years of service to the community!

Without the dedication and commitment of volunteers, we would not have in person events, webinars, tele-classes, community groups, a website, and much more. We extend a heartfelt Thank You to all our volunteers who supported our community this year.
