From the ICF-NJ President

Hello Everyone,

As the ides of March roll in, it's a great time to refresh and renew. Speaking of renewal, it's time to renew your ICF membership

We are incredibly fortunate to be part of a global organization, which provides many levels of support for its members. Member benefits include and are not limited to the following:

Local Engagement - allows members to meet and collaborate with other local coaches at chapter events and help their communities flourish through pro bono coaching initiatives.

Leadership Development - opportunities are available for members who would like to volunteer and serve locally, regionally, and globally while helping to shape our future.

Event Registration - is discounted for ICF Global in-person and virtual events, locally and globally.

ICF Social Media Forums - provide members a way to share ideas on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Also, position yourself as a thought leader in the ICF Blog.

Credentialing Applications - offer discounts on initial and renewal ICF Credential applications.

Continuing Coach Education - Professional development and Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units are available by participating in select ICF Chapter events. Members can also earn CCE units by accessing the virtual library housed on the ICF website.

Reciprocal Peer Coaching - is accessible for all ICF Members and enables them to receive professional coaching from one colleague in exchange for time spent coaching another peer.

ICF Logo and Membership Certificate - are available for members to use on their websites, in communications, and stationary, creating instant credibility afforded by the ICF Global brand.

ICF Partner Programs - offers discounts to members on their goods and services. Offerings include a wide range of products and services, including insurance, software solutions, and magazine subscriptions.

Member Toolkit - contains valuable content, including printable marketing collateral, fact sheets, press release templates, and more.

Directory Listings - are provided as a way for potential clients to ICF coaches and ICF members to connect with one another. Members who hold an ICF credential may be included in the Credentialed Coach Finder and/or Mentor Coach Registry.

Industry Research - free or discounted ICF industry research is available to members that will help them make savvy business decisions and communicate the power of professional coaching to prospective clients.

At ICF-NJ, we offer an additional premium membership which provides our chapter members additional discounts on in-person events and complimentary access to our webinars, as well as a listing in our directory and opportunity to promote yourself on our home page.

If you have any questions regarding membership, please reach out to Sarah Jack our Membership Committee Chairperson, myself, or any of our board members. We look forward to having you in our community and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event.

Best Regards,

RenĂ©e Robertson

ICF New Jersey Community Groups:
Good Conversation. Good Connections.
Good for Business
by Karen Delk, ICF-NJ Community Group Director
You completed your education and training to become a professional coach. You launched your coaching practice and clients are starting to stream to you. It is truly a great feeling doing what you love, but how do you balance that with keeping abreast of tools, assessments, and resources to keep you current? It can be tough and finding the right resource is essential to keep you centered.

The New Jersey ICF Community Groups is the place you want to visit. The benefits of finding a professional group that educates, informs, and challenges you can certainly be helpful.

There are five ICF-New Jersey Community Groups that meet monthly.  The community groups cover the following regions:
  • Bergen and Hudson Counties
  • Essex, Morris, Somerset and Union Counties
  • Mercer and Hunterdon Counties
  • Middlesex and Monmouth Counties
  • Southern NJ Counties
Each Community Group has its own unique character. The Community leaders and the members set an agenda of topics and discussions that work for them. Some groups read and discuss books, some discuss different tools and strategies, and some focus on ways to increase their coaching practice. While you do not need to be a member of the ICF-NJ to attend a Community Group meeting, it is our hope you consider becoming a member to receive the full benefits of membership.

Here are two perspectives on the benefits of becoming active in the ICF-NJ Community Groups:

"I love being a part of the Bergen County group. This group allowed me to meet other life coaches, not trained by iPEC, and learn about what's important to and what informs their coaching. It has brought me opportunities for new kinds of thinking, sharing my skills and expertise with others in the group, and generally providing the opportunity to connect with other professionals in my field, especially since I am in my own business working by myself." Jean Grossman, BGP Coaching

"I love going to the Princeton Area Community Group run by Jeanette Iglesias for the professionalism, collaboration among the members, and willingness to share best practices. We all have slightly different focus areas, which helps with sharing and a willingness to learn from each other. Everyone in the group is motivated to grow their practice and is committed to helping each other attain their goals. Jeanette has made us all step up to the plate to present, and it has enriched the group as we all learn from each other, enabling us to keep strengthening our presentations and perspectives. Every meeting, I have come away with something that has made me reflect and hone my marketing, coaching, or facilitation. One of the most exciting parts of our conversations has been discussing opportunities to put our efforts together to create joint marketing opportunities. I look forward to continuing to grow with this group." Helen Mazur, Princeton Performance Dynamics
