July 3, 2012 ICNA Relief offers free meals to Northern Virginia Residents with power outages In light of the recent power outages due to this past weekend's thunderstorm, Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center is opening its doors as a Cooling Center to those in the surrounding area who still have no electricity in their homes. Anyone in the surrounding area may come in during the day between noontime and 7:00pm to seek refuge from the heat and enjoy the cool atmosphere at the Islamic Center.
Additionally, Dar Al-Hijrah will be providing free hot meals for the coming three days: today, Wednesday, and Thursday, to those who are still experiencing power outages at their homes. Dar Al-Hijrah Social Services Department would like to extend very special thanks ICNA-Relief for reaching out to Dar Al-Hijrah and offering to supply the community with food during its time of difficulty.
ICNA-Relief, (Islamic Circle of North America-Relief), is an Islamic non-profit charity organization created to meet the needs of the underprivileged. The Virginia Chapter is headed by Mr. Mohamed Bangura. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for ICNA-Relief's generosity during this time of hardship.
