IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Conference Portfolio Management  Program Spotlight
In 2014, the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS) undertook           a CAS logo proactive effort to manage its conference portfolio.

Amara Amara, CAS VP-Conferences explains that the CAS goals were "...to improve the quality of conferences, the skills of our conference organizers and awareness about IEEE Meetings, Conferences & Events (MCE) and CAS procedures and rules."

As part of the program, CAS revamped and communicated its conference guidelines, provided tools and implemented conference education programs. To help monitor progress they have begun ongoing conference assessment.

Amara has led the way, especially in education. Since the inception in 2014, Amara has personally conducted seven workshops around the globe including Brazil, China, Japan and Portugal reaching more than 215 organizers, with two additional workshops planned for later in 2016.

IEEE MCE has collaborated with Amara Amara in providing content and support for the education program and is pleased to recognize his leadership and efforts in assisting current and future conference organizers.
