Seder This Sunday, March 17 (No Gathering) 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Seder is THIS Sunday at Einstein High School.  Our experiment of having the Seder on a Sunday morning rather than a Saturday evening has worked tremendously well on one front - there are 118 of you coming!  Now we will just have to see what a Seder without wine is like (grape juice for everyone!). This could be the start of another unique IFFP tradition, although probably not on St. Patrick's day again (talk about being interfaith.....).

We are setting up tables and chairs for 125.  There is room for a few more people to come but it will be really important to send Jessica Vistnes an e-mail if you haven't already RSVP'd or you may not have a place to sit at the Seder.

Instructions for bringing food:  Please bring enough food to feed 15 people whether you signed up for a main dish, side dish or dessert. Also, please no switching from main dish or side dish to dessert at the last minute.   Both of those requests are important because we really don't want to run out of food at something that is supposed to be a feast!   We will have the ability to warm up food and to keep it cold, if necessary.  Please bring food that needs to be warmed up in a container that can go in an oven.  And don't forget to bring a serving utensil.  Labeling everything is also always a good idea.

Remember not to include nuts in any of your main or side dishes or desserts.  Note to anyone with a nut allergy - there are walnuts in haroset.  Please send Jessica Vistnes an e-mail if this is a problem for anyone in your family so we can discuss this.   See you Sunday!

Easter's On Its Way - March 31
Sign up now!
It's safe to say that the Easter service followed by the Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast has become an IFFP tradition as this is our 4th year of celebrating Easter on Easter.  Whether you are a skilled flapjack flipper or Easter egg dyer, or whether you prefer to pick your contribution up at the store on the way to IFFP, there is a way for you to help make this year's Easter service and breakfast a big success.  We are coordinating volunteers for Easter through an on-line sign up sheet.  Please visit Volunteer Spot to sign up for at least one job, or email Stephani Abramson at stephani.abramson@gmail.com to let her know what you can do to help.
IFFP Women's Retreat - April 12-14

Come join us!  So far about 20 IFFP women will be attending the Women's Retreat, April 12-14 in Berkeley Springs, WV. There's still room for about 3 more women to come if you would like to stay in a single room in one of the houses we are renting!  Once those are filled - you can always stay at a nearby hotel and join us for all activities (but you still need to tell us in advance that you are coming).  Please contact Jessica Vistnes at Jessica.Vistnes@ahrq.hhs.gov if you are interested in attending.  Click here for information on the costs for the retreat.

Spring Open House and Guest Author - April 7
Invite your friends and neighbors for a special Sunday where we will welcome guests to IFFP.

Dr. Erika Seamon will be a special guest at IFFP's Open House on April 7. She will talk about her book,
Interfaith Marriage in America: The Transformation of Religion and Christianity (Palgrave MacMillan, November 2012)

which is based on years of research speaking to interfaith couples about how they view religion in their married life, how they practice their traditions and how they think about the role of religious community in their family.

Notes from Rev. Beth

Coming of Age Community Service Project

Thank you to all you fun people who came to IFFP wearing pajamas, robes and fuzzy slippers--and to those of you who came as you normally would, but also donated. This was part of the Coming of Age community service project to raise money for the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO), a national awareness and advocacy group based right in our neighborhood. They will also be holding a benefit concert on Saturday, April 20. Please plan to attend.

Only Two More Weeks to Raise Money for a Wii Gaming System for
N Street Village

And we are a long way from having enough money for a Wii. Please hire your children to do chores and pay them generously. All the information and kid packets are here. You can turn your money into Rev. Beth at the Seder (3/17) and before the gathering on Easter (3/31). We are going to announce how much money was collected at the Easter gathering. And the class with the most money earned will get a party in Sunday School on April 7th.

Teacher Appreciation Table

Please remember to stop by the teacher appreciation table this Sunday. There is paper for you and your child to write notes to your child's teachers. We are copying the notes and putting them in books for each member of your child's classroom team. If you are able to make copies at work and would like to contribute to this project, please contact Rev. Beth at McCHarness@aol.com. Thanks!

This Week's Note to Parents: Please take your children for a snack and a bathroom break before class starts.
