Seven awards in 4 categories will be presented to chosen recipients at the
13th International Family Nursing Conference in Pamplona, Spain in 2017. The
IFNA Awards Committee, chaired by
Dr. Norma Krumwiede (USA), with members from 5 countries, will oversee the selection process of these awards.

In addition, the Distinguished Partner in Family Health Care Award recognizes non-IFNA members and individuals outside of the discipline of Nursing, including associations, corporations, or non-profit organizations who demonstrate sustained investment and excellence in advancing family focused health care.

Dr. Veronica Lambert (Ireland) is conducting a study on parent-adolescent communication and negotiation of self-management responsibilities for adolescents' with Type 1 Diabetes (TID). This builds on her research in the field of family communication processes for children living with chronic health care needs.

IFNA Conference Committee is extremely pleased with the excellent proposals and abstracts that were submitted in response to the Call for Abstracts. We are currently finalizing the schedule of accepted Preconference Workshops and Expert Lectures. Additionally, review is underway of 386 abstracts submitted from numerous countries. Acceptance notifications will be sent to authors in mid-December 2016.
